Feed the Children store offering supplies to all RCS teachers

The Feed the Children Teacher Store (310 Tech Park Drive, LaVergne) opened for shopping Aug. 9. The store is open Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. and the last teacher will be allowed in at 4:45 p.m.

Eligible teachers will be issued a black logo "Feed the Children" bag for use this year for supplies. Boxes will be available for books and they have set up a taping area located in the warehouse adjacent to the inventory of books.

Teachers must be full-time classroom teachers to participate.  The below shopping guidelines will be strictly adhered to and enforced by Feed the Children staff. All areas behind the yellow ropes are restricted. Moving beyond this area creates potential safety risks and inventory concerns. Teachers are required to weigh all of their products and load themselves.

As always, Feed the Children staff will be present to answer any questions teachers may have during the shopping experience. However, teachers must make arrangements to transport chosen supplies to their vehicle. Also, as a reminder, if students are out of school on any particular day then the Teacher Store is closed. All counties are available to shop on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Product will not be held for return pick up.

  • All teachers are encouraged to complete their shopping inside the store before they enter the warehouse.  This helps to keep both areas from being congested.
  • Teachers need to keep all of their selected items together with them until ready to check out (this will help to keep the checkout line from being log jammed).
  • Books – there is not a limit on the number of books that you can select. Boxes are available for use to pack books.
  • Chairs and other large items not on a pallet will have to be loaded by each individual (two wheel dollies will be supplied).
  • Office Furniture - large files cabinets and desks will be brought to your vehicle if they are still on a pallet but teachers must load them.
  • All teachers need to have their ID badges with them to shop.  They will be turned away if they do not present their badge. (If your school does not have ID badges, we will accept a Tennessee driver’s license). RCS has sent school rosters to FTC, but the rosters may not have all late hires listed. Be prepared to present your school ID.
