RCS graduate commissioned into U.S. Air Force, pursuing medical degree

Kayla Sides Watson, a 2012 graduate of Blackman High School and a 2016 graduate of East Tennessee State University, was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant by Lt. Col. Clark Harrell.

Watson has been accepted into the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program.

She will begin medical school next month at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine on the campus of ETSU.

A ceremony was held Monday in the auditorium at Stewarts Creek High School, where Harrell serves as principal.
