As the new staff attorney for Rutherford County Schools, Sara Page hopes her legal background will be a resource for principals in their efforts to provide educational opportunities for students.

“I’m most excited about getting to know the principals,” said Page, who joined the school district Feb. 11, “and help them have the tools they need to be successful in the role as an administrator and feel confident in their decision-making.”

Page most recently served as the assistant general counsel for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, a position she held for three years.

She also has background in special education law — which is one of her passions. She served as the clerk for the panel of judges who hear special education due process and mediation hearings.

She is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the College of Law at Belmont University, where she also served as president of the Legal Aid Society.

Page will work from the district’s Central Office in Murfreesboro. She succeeds Lauren Bush, who left the district in January.
