General guidelines for bus riders

• To ensure safety, the driver must be totally in charge of the bus. Passengers must respond promptly to instructions given.
• Drivers may assign student seating. Students will take their assigned seating promptly upon entering the bus.
• Students must always remain seated and not turn around in their seat. Nothing can block the aisle.
• Students will not throw any items out the bus windows. Never extend any portion of your body out the bus windows.
• No screaming or yelling on the bus. Passengers will follow the RCS Classroom Code of Conduct.
• No fighting, bullying, harassment or horseplay on the bus or at the bus stop.
• Smoking/vaping, use of any tobacco or drugs on the bus or at the bus stop is prohibited.
• Students will not tamper with equipment or vandalize the interior or exterior of the school bus. Parents/students will be charged for the repair of all damage to the school bus.
• No eating or drinking on the bus.
• Band Instruments and sports equipment must be secured in the students lap and NO taller than the seat and NOT covering the student's face. Therefore some sports equipment — including bat bags, large posterboards, large musical instruments are not allowed on the bus. Animals and glass containers are also not permitted on the bus. 
• Students must wait at their proper stop and be on time. We recommend students arrive 10 minutes prior to bus arrival time. Buses cannot wait for students who are late arriving to the stop.
• The use of electronic devices or other items in a manner that might interfere with the school bus communication equipment or the driver’s operation of the school bus is prohibited. This may include but is not limited to cell phones, audible players, mirrors, lasers, flash cameras or other reflected devices.
