Read to Succeed names Buchanan Elementary County School of the Year

Read to Succeed has named Buchanan Elementary as the County School of the Year for its commitment to literacy.  

The award was presented to the school on April 17 at Brown's Store in Lascassas. Principal Michael Hickman, reading coach Donnetta Stanley and librarian Martha Adkins accepted the award on behalf of the school's teachers, students and parents.  

Read To Succeed is a community partnership created to promote literacy in Rutherford County. The objective of this collaboration between schools, area agencies, and businesses is to support local programming and raise awareness about the importance of literacy.
