Rutherford Choice - Secondary application window now open (Feb. 3-April 1, 2023)

 

RCS is accepting the following Choice Applications as part of the secondary Choice Application window. For more information please see our Choice School Guide linked below. 

 

Open choice

Open Choice- Open Choice schools with remaining seats will continue to accept applications through April 1. Holloway High School will accept applications through the start of the Fall 2023 semester. 

Advanced Academic

Advanced Academic- Lavergne High School’s Early College at Motlow will accept applications until April 1. Students from any zone may apply. 

Virtual

Virtual- Rutherford County Virtual School will continue to accept applications through the start of the Fall 2023 semester.

RCS Choice School Guide

2023-2024 CHOICE SCHOOL GUIDE - Priority Deadline Jan. 31, 2023

Rutherford County Schools has published the following guide for parents to learn more about choice school options for 2023-2024  — including academic magnet schools, advanced academic program schools, open choice schools, a virtual school and a charter school. The priority deadline was Jan. 31, 2023, and as such, the only available seats, are those listed above. 
 
This guide provides important information for parents wishing to apply, including a list of schools and their available openings, how to apply, important deadline, and answers to frequently asked questions. 
 
 

 
IMPORTANT DEADLINES
 
Priority Deadline: Requests for all academic magnet schools, advanced academic schools and open choice schools will be accepted Dec. 1, 2022 through Jan. 31, 2023. Except for the academic magnet programs, which use ranking systems, a random lottery of all complete and qualified applications will be conducted to determine which applications are accepted. For information about sibling priorities, please see the frequently asked questions section at the end of this guide. 
 
Secondary Deadline: Requests will be accepted for any remaining seats at open choice and advanced academic schools through April 1, 2023. 
 
Those selected for a seat for an academic magnet school will be notified during March. In all cases, parents have until April 1 to confirm they are accepting a seat for a student.
