Fine Arts Honors Series

The RCS Fine Arts Honors Series is designed to celebrate the best of the Fine Arts in Rutherford County Schools, offer exceptional educational opportunities for students, and provide quality professional development for RCS Fine Arts Teachers.

 

The Series consists of four distinct events to occur throughout the school year: The RCS District Theatre Showcase, The RCS Honor Choir, The RCS All-County Band, and the RCS Art Show. Each event features renowned guest artists to guide selected students through new artistic ideas and provide professional development for teachers. Selected students will also have an opportunity to perform or present their work at a public event.

 

First United Methodist Church - Murfreesboro, TN

Middle School and High School students will spend two days preparing works of music with esteemed guest conductors. The choirs will be made of top-performing students from throughout the district, particularly those who have achieved Mid-State and All-State Choir status. The Honors Choirs will perform Monday evening in the beautiful, acoustically-resonant sanctuary of Murfreesboro's First United Methodist Church.

 

All-County Band - February 2, 2024

World Outreach Church - Murfreesboro, TN

This event will consist of middle and high school honor bands filled with top-performing students from throughout the RCS district. The bands will spend time rehearsing with renowned guest conductors and give a performance on Friday evening.

 

All-County Art Show - March 16-31, 2024

Frist Art Museum - Nashville, TN

Selected Rutherford County Visual Art students in grade K-12 will have a chance to show off their work at the beautiful Frist Art Museum in Nashville, TN.
