Central Magnet School students had a strong showing in the 2026 Tennessee Geographic Alliance State Mapping Contest, earning top honors across both divisions.
In the Middle School Division, Anhad Jain earned 1st Place, with additional Central Magnet students finishing in the Top 5 statewide. In the High School Division, multiple students also secured Top 5 finishes, continuing the program’s statewide success.
Central Magnet educator Clay Burns was also recognized by the Tennessee Geographic Information Council (TNGIC) with the GIS Catalyst Award. The award honors educators making outstanding contributions to advancing GIS education and geographic literacy across Tennessee. Burns teaches a yearlong Intro to GIS course at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro.
