Emily Gill, a school counselor at Thurman Francis Arts Academy, has been named by the Tennessee School Counselor Association (TSCA) as the 2022-23 Tennessee School Counselor of the year.
According to the TSCA, Gill has gone above and beyond to positively impact the Rutherford community. As a nominee, Gill stood out from others because of her representation as a professional school counselor on multiple levels.
Gill has served as district team leader, was a site supervisor for job-embedded graduate interns and presented at the yearly state conference for school counselors. Additionally, TSCA noted that Gill offers multiple opportunities for development to parents and caregivers.
Gill is also currently a part of Rutherford Works externship, which provides perspective and insight to help assist students with choosing post-secondary options.
