Senior Abigail Sowards wrote a song with the theme of treasuring everyday experiences with her family before embarking on the journey beyond high school in her mind.

Sowards song was selected to be performed at All for the Hall at Bridgestone Arena tonight, December 5.

“It’s been really unexpected. I feel so blessed,” Sowards said. “My song was picked and it lined up perfectly with what All for the Hall was looking for.”

All for the Hall’s concert theme is “The Song Remembers When” with feature artists performing a song that defines a memorable moment in their life.

This opportunity for Sowards is made possible by the museum’s primary educational initiative Words & Music.

Words & Music connects students with experienced songwriters to impart lyric writing and language art skills through writing music.

With professional guidance from songwriter Paulina Jayne, Sowards will present her song with accompaniment from her classmates John Dechira and David Guydon - who will both be playing percussion.

Jayne visited Stewarts Creek last week to practice with the three students.
