Rutherford County bowlers compete at state tournament

Rutherford County Schools was well represented at the recent state bowling tournament. 

Smyrna High School was the only RCS boys bowling team to compete in the tournament, and there were no RCS girls bowling teams in the tournament. 

Smyrna’s team made it to state semifinals losing to Bartlett.

Several boys and girls from various Rutherford high schools participated in the individual state bowling tournament, and two RCS boys placed in the top six. 

Stewarts Creek’s Matteo Quintero placed second and Smyrna’s Josh Morgan placed third. 

There were five 300 bowlers from RCS this year in match play. Those bowlers are:

  • Braxton Dedmon (Stewarts Creek) - 300 game - 12/12/23 during district tournament
  • Jarvis Mosby (Rockvale) - 300 game - 10/26/23
  • Reese Campbell (Siegel) - 300 game - 10/24/23
  • Josh Morgan (Smyrna) - 300 game - 10/19/23
  • William Smith (Oakland) - 300 game - 10/16/23

Siegel bowling coach Sapnesh Naran has created a website that shows results from the 2023-2024 season.
