Rutherford County Schools
Several students from Rutherford County Schools theatre programs have been recognized for dedication to their craft.
Students in grades 9-12 auditioned for the Tennessee All State Theater Event (TASTE) in January in the areas of acting, musical theatre, and design/tech. Auditions were held at Middle Tennessee State University in conjunction with the Tennessee State Thespian Festival.
Depending on the discipline chosen, students were scored by college faculty members and local professionals on technique, professionalism, mechanics, craftsmanship and portfolio.
Additionally, representatives from more than 20 programs in eight states participated in a college fair.
Students earning All State distinction performed their audition packet or displayed their portfolios during the TASTE conference, which was held Feb. 24 at Stewarts Creek High School.
