RCS archery teams hit the mark at state tournament

Rutherford County Schools

Several of Rutherford County Schools’ archery programs claimed team or individual titles at the National Archery in the Schools Program’s 16th Tennessee Championships.

Hosted by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, competition took place March 13-15 at Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro. More than 2,000 students from nearly 100 schools across the state competed.

Each student shot 30 arrows, 15 each from 10 meters and 15 meters with a maximum score of 300. The top team and top 10 individuals in each division earned automatic bids to compete in the 2024 National NASP Tournament to be held May 9-11 in Louisville, Kentucky. At-large bids were awarded to those who qualified.

Teams competed in target and 3D competitions.

Below are the RCS teams and individuals that placed in the Top 5 for their division. For tiebreakers, higher placement goes to team/archer with most 10-point shots. To see a full list of final standings, visit https://nasptournaments.org/TournamentExplorer.aspx
