All-County, Mid-State, All-State Theatre Honors

98 RCS students have been selected for All-County, Mid-State, and All-State distinction in a recent state-wide event. Over 300 students from 13 school districts in Tennessee participated. Auditions and Interviews were held in the areas of Acting, Musical Theatre, and Technical Theatre.

Students’ performances and portfolios were adjudicated by a panel of judges made up of faculty representing 14 colleges and universities from 4 different states.

In addition to the distinction awards, RCS students received a total of 871 call-backs during the audition process. Call-backs were an invitation to talk to college and university representatives about their school programs and scholarship opportunities.

Rutherford County Schools’ teachers created the first RCS All-County Theatre event in 2017. Teachers saw a need to recognize theatre students’ achievements at the district, regional, and state level. The event has since grown into a state-wide event. In addition to providing opportunities for distinction, the event has also become the largest college theatre audition in the state, providing students with important college and career information.
