Rutherford students rack up awards at Junior Beta Convention in Savannah, Georgia

Rutherford County Schools

Several students from Rutherford County elementary and middle schools competed and placed last week at the Junior Beta National Convention that was held in Savannah, Georgia. 

 

Central Magnet School

  • Bryan Dowell placed fifth for sixth-grade Social Studies.
  • Breana Yodis ninth in sixth-grade science.

 

McFadden School of Excellence

  • 1st place- Avery Stojakovic for the essay “Elvie McFadden was a True Beta”
  • 3rd Place- Group Talent (Alice in Wonderland)
  • 4th Place- Quiz Bowl Oral rounds, 1st place on written test 
  • 6th Place- Banner
  • 6th Place Technology (http://youtu.be/1vt47gg3-Lo)
  • 7th Place- Tower of Power 
  • 10th Place- Songfest
  • Overall Award- “The School to Watch” - McFadden inducted 129 members, dominated the Tennessee convention in November placing in 17 categories, and qualifying for 13 competitions at nationals

 

Rockvale Middle School

  • Ryan Maier placed second in Division 2 Social Studies for seventh-grade.
