Rezoning and School Boundaries 2023

The Rutherford County Board of Education adopted a school boundary and rezoning plan in November 2023. 

The plan was developed after a year of study from the consulting firm RSP & Associates, which conducted several parent information sessions and a parent survey to collect input and feedback on the various concept zoning maps. Input was also gathered from the administrators at all schools. 

The maps below show the approved rezoning and school boundary plan.A searchable map is also linked below showing the approved rezoning plan.

The rezoning will be phased in over the next 2-3 years. 

• Beginning in August 2024, the new elementary school zones affecting Roy Waldron, LaVergne Lake, Smyrna Elementary and John Colemon will go in effect. 
• Beginning in August 2025, all the remaining elementary schools zones and the new high school zones will go into effect. 
• Beginning in August 2026, the new middle school zones will go into effect.
