Graduation Requirements
Total Credits Required: 23 credits
- English: 4 credits- English I, English II, English III, and English IV
- Math: 4 credits- Integrated I, II, III and a fourth higher-level math course
- Science: 3 credits - Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and a third lab science
- Social Studies: 3 credits- World History & Geography, US History, Government and Economics
- Personal Finance: .5 credit
- Physical Education and Wellness: 1.5 credits- Wellness (1 credit) and PE II (.5 credit)
- Fine Arts: 1 credit - Art I, Band, Chorus, General Music or Theatre I
- World Language: 2 credits - 2 credits in the same language
- Elective Focus: 3 credits
- Additional Elective: 1 credit
**In addition to the 23 credits required for graduation, students must also take the ACT and Civics test.
Graduation with Honors
Meet or exceed ACT college-readiness benchmark scores:
English - 18 Math- 22 Reading-22 Science-23
Graduation with Distinction
Students who attain a 3.0 GPA and complete at least one of the following:
- Earn a nationally recognized industry certification
- Participate in at least one of the Governor’s Schools
- Participate in one of the state’s All State musical organizations
- Earn statewide recognition or award at a skill- or knowledge-based state tournament, convention, or competition hosted by a statewide student organization, and/or qualify for national recognition by a national student organization
- Be selected as a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist
- Attain a score of 31 or higher composite score on the ACT
- Attain a score of 3 or higher on at least two advanced placement exams
- Successfully complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programs
- Earn 12 or more semester hours of postsecondary credit (4 Dual Enrollment courses, which are available junior and senior year.)
Valedictorian Requirements for the Graduating Class of 2023 and beyond:
- Highest GPA
- 12 honors or above courses
- Graduate with Distinction
Students must meet Valedictorian criteria by the 7th semester.
