Credit Recovery Information
Rutherford County Schools will offer a 4-week summer school opportunity for qualifying 11th and 12th graders.  Credit Recovery is an online-platform for students who have previously failed a course with at least a 50.  *Students who received a grade below a 50 are not eligible for Credit Recovery.  Students should talk to their counselor for other options. 
 
Summer School Dates:  June 3rd - June 28th (closed June 19th)
Time:  8:00 - 11:00 am Monday - Friday
Locations: Blackman HS or LaVergne HS
Cost:  $50 per half credit (Waived for Free/Reduced lunch students)
Registration:  April 29th - May 28th - please see your school counselor for the application
As soon as the application is returned, the parents will receive an email that will allow them to submit payment.  Please note that registration is not complete until payment has been received. 
 
Summer School Graduation:  Friday, July 19th at 6pm at Blackman HS.  All students who intend to participate in SS graduation must be present at the mandatory rehearsal at 9:00 am on July 19th at BHS.  More details to come soon.

Attendance:
  • Students must attend in-person the week of June 3rd- June 7th.  Credit Recovery is set up for students to work at their own pace and are encouraged to work at home if possible.  
  • After June 7th, students may work from home as long as they on-track.  For students who are not on-track to complete the course will need to continue to come in-person to work on their coursework. 
  • All students must come in person to take all tests and quizzes.  
  • All coursework and exams must completed by Friday, June 28th.
 
Grading: 
  • After all coursework has been successfully completed, the student's transcript will be updated to reflect a passing grade of 60%.

  • The following subjects will have teachers available at each location to support students as needed Monday - Friday from 8:00 -11:00 am.

Student Athletes:  
Please note that any coursework completed through credit recovery is not NCAA approved.
 
Laptops: 
Laptops will be available for students to checkout to continue their work at home.
