Students studying in a STEM field at Central Magnet School will now benefit from international recognition, as the school has earned STEM certification from AdvancED.

STEM courses are those in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

STEM programs prepare students for an advanced and changing workforce while establishing students as innovative, creative and systematic problem-solvers across several disciplines.

“We are proud to be an AdvancED STEM Certified School,” Central Principal Dr. John Ash said. “This certification exhibits Central Magnet School’s commitment to addressing workforce needs by preparing our students with relevant skills and experiences to succeed while demonstrating to the private sector that we are committed to driving higher levels of student achievement for their STEM pipeline.”

A STEM education can benefit students by providing more educational and career opportunities in the future by ensuring that students have the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in their post-secondary pursuits.
