Welcome to the Communications Department
The RCS Communications Department works to ensure all stakeholders have the latest information about the school district and schools. Those stakeholders include employees, parents, community members, students and our media partners.
The Communications Department uses a variety of channels to provide information, including the district's website, internal and external newsletters, multiple social media outlets and direct notifications to parents using an automated phone, email and text message system.
RCS website (www.rcschools.net): Website for Rutherford County Schools. The Communications Department provides content for the website including announcements, school news stories, photos and press releases.
School Messenger: The parent notification system for Rutherford County Schools. The Communications Department oversees districtwide messages sent by the system via phone and e-mail including special updates, reminders, school closings and emergency alerts.
The RCS Parent Insider: Bi-weekly newsletter for parents and the community. The newsletter is delivered via e-mail through the district's parent notification system, School Messenger, and is available online.
The RCS Employee Insider: Weekly E-newsletter for employees.
RCS Fact Book & Annual Report: A yearly publication produced each January highlighting key areas of the school district, including academics, finances, student expenditures, student growth and the building program.
