RCS expands free food program to 26 sites during shutdown

There will be a drive-thru style food bag pickup offered for free on Thursday, May 14 from 12–4:30 p.m. at Keller Williams Realty. They will be handing out more than 300 bags that afternoon.

 

Rutherford County Schools is currently providing breakfast and lunch to any child 18 and under at no charge while the district is shutdown for COVID-19, Monday-Friday.

 

Additionally, adults will also be served for $2 at breakfast and $3.80 for lunch. Exact change is needed for payment.

 

The Food Service Program will be expanded to 26 school sites situated throughout the district. All meals will be available as a drive though or walk up location at the each of the sites and will be distributed for students to consume at home. There is no dine-in option.

 

Beginning Monday, April 20, all locations will serve warm meals to go from 8-9 a.m. (breakfast) and 11 a.m.-noon (lunch). 

 

 

These 26 sites will offer hot food from 8-9 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon Monday through Friday for the remainder of the school year:
