Central Magnet School remains the best high school in Tennessee, the third best magnet school in the nation, and the seventh overall best high school in the United States, based on the most recent rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.

The rankings were released today.

"Great teachers and hard-working students," Principal Dr. John Ash said when asked what contributes to the school being the best in Tennessee.

Central Magnet has been recognized with high rankings by U.S. News for several years and typically ranks within the top performing schools in Tennessee and beyond. It has been named the best school in Tennessee multiple times over the past few years.

Graduation rates and college readiness are key metrics within the 2022 Best High Schools, according to today’s release from U.S. News, which ranked about 18,000 out of nearly 24,000 reviewed public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
