The deadline to apply for the position was midnight Friday, April 29.

The candidates are:

  • Andrea Anthony, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Support Services, Rutherford County Schools, Murfreesboro, TN
  • John Ash, Principal, Central Magnet School, Rutherford County Schools, Murfreesboro, TN
  • Nolan Clark Blair, Principal, McFadden School of Excellence, Rutherford County Schools, Murfreesboro, TN
  • Erick Hofstetter, Chief Operations Officer, Paulding County School District, Dallas, GA

The School Board has a series of scheduled public meetings in May to discuss and interview finalists for the position. Those chosen to be interviewed will include meet-and-greet events with local community leaders, parents and employees prior to a formal interview before the elected School Board.

Specifics on those interviews will be released as soon the Board determines the list of finalists.

Current Director of Schools Bill Spurlock will serve in the position through June 30, 2022.
