Rutherford County Schools appreciates the engagement, feedback, and support of our community and stakeholders throughout the application and appeal process for American Classical Academy- Rutherford. We would also like to thank the Tennessee Charter Commission staff members for their time and diligent efforts throughout the appeal process.
Our school district supports quality choice programming for our students, evidenced by our commitment to expanding choice programs offered directly by our schools and our recent approval of a charter school that will soon open within Rutherford County. We did not recommend in favor of ACAR after a thorough evaluation by our review team found the proposed school did not meet the high quality standards established by Tennessee Department of Education.
