Rutherford middle school teams compete in Nashville Robotics contest

Several Rutherford County middle schools participated and placed at the 2022 Music City BEST Competition held at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena this past weekend. 

The robotic competition pits schools against each other in several categories, including the overall BEST winner. Those schools which place high then move on to the South's BEST Championship at Auburn University in December.

The follow Rutherford middle schools competed and earned awards:

Blackman Middle School (Coach Zach Martin)

  • Most Improved Veteran Team
  • Most Photogenic Machine/Robot
  • BEST Middle School Team
  • 3rd place BEST Award
  • 1st place robot competition — moving on to Souths BEST Championship at Auburn University
Christiana Middle School (Coach Price Stallard)
  • 7th place robotics competition
     
Rock Springs Middle School (Coach James Elliott)
  • Won the wild card round and competed in the semifinals of the robotics competition
  • 8th place robotics competition
     
Rocky Fork Middle School (Coach Bobbie Jo Meredith)
  • Competed in the wild card round of the robotics competition
