RCS Summer Learning Information

RCS K- 8 Summer Learning:

 

Summer Learning camps are scheduled for June 5-29, Monday-Thursday, for a total of 16 days.

 

Breakfast and lunch are provided, and students will experience additional instructional time in Reading, Math, and STEM with physical activity daily.  This instruction is on grade level for the grade students just completed and helps bridge them to the next grade level.

 

Locations for K-8 summer camps are as follows:

Buchanan Elementary

Blackman Elementary

Rock Springs Elementary

LaVergne Lake Elementary

Walter Hill Elementary

David-Youree Elementary

John Colemon Elementary

LaVergne Middle

Christiana Middle

Smyrna Middle

 

Parents of third graders who need to attend camp as a pathway to 4th grade may contact Elizabeth Davis, [email protected] to enroll. 

 

RCS High School Summer Learning:

 

Summer learning for high school students will take place at Riverdale High School, and there are two sessions (June 1-June 23 and June 26-July 21). The cost for high school summer learning is $100 per half credit, and payment is due by May 31 for the first semester.

 

Registration may be done either May 26, from 12-330 or May 30 from 3:30-7:00, and must be done in-person at Riverdale High School.

 

Please note, there is no credit recovery option at the comprehensive high schools. Students who wish to complete credit recovery should talk with their school counselor about the best option.
