Landon Stanley – 2019 graduate of Stewarts Creek High and 2023 MTSU graduate – flew out to London in June to help record a live album for artist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram.
The live album was recorded at The Garage in London.
Since the album is a live recording, the audio crew only had one chance at capturing the sounds.
“The pressure was unreal,” Stanley said. “We only had one shot to get it right.”
Stanley talked about his relationship with Zach Allen – audio engineer and producer – who was the lead engineer of the album.
“It was definitely a group effort,” Stanley said. “Without Kingfish and Allen, I wouldn’t have been able to be there.”
Ingram’s new album, Live in London, is nominated for a Grammy Award in the Contemporary Blues category.
“I cannot believe we were nominated,” Stanley said. “I set high goals for myself personally, and my sophomore year in college, I set a goal for myself to have my first Grammy in my first year out of school. We’re halfway there.”
Stanley was a part of the Stewarts Creek audio production program and went on to major in audio production at Middle Tennessee State University.
Stanley is credited on the album as assistant audio engineer.
The air date for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards is set for February 4, 2024.
