Today at Nissan Stadium the best high school football players across the state gathered together to be recognized for their athletic success.

More than 400 people attended the 2023 luncheon including the honorees, their families, coaches, school administrators and media members from across the state.

Two Rutherford County Schools students were invited to attend the ceremony as they were selected as finalists for the Class 6A Mr. Football award.

Bradley Central’s running back Boo Carter — who is also a Tennessee football commit —  took home the award.

Riverdale quarterback Braden Graham finished his senior season with 3,489 yards and 42 touchdowns through the air this season while completing 72% of his passes.

“I’m thankful to be selected as a finalist,” Graham said. “All three of us led our teams to big wins and seasons. Congrats to Boo [Carter].”

Oakland running back Daune Morris finished his junior season with 2,333 all-purpose yards and 29 total touchdowns.

“It’s great to be in this type of environment with two other great players,” Morris said. “It’s a great community effort. Braden is a great athlete and it was an honor to compete against him. Personally, I’m excited to work to do it again next year.”

Tennessee Titans’ General Manager Ran Carthon and Voice of the Titans Mike Keith hosted the event and presented the awards.

“This is such an outstanding honor for all 30 of the young men recognized today,” said Mark Reeves, Executive Director of the TSSAA. “They are not here today only due to their athletic ability that they displayed on the field throughout their season, but just as much for their outstanding character and academic achievements.”
