UPDATE: SCHOOLS OPEN TODAY ON TWO-HOUR DELAY
Hello parents,
This is James Evans with Rutherford County Schools and we want to confirm the plans for today, Tuesday Jan. 23, 2024.
We have been out driving several roads across the county, both last night and early this morning. Road conditions have improved greatly.
So schools will be open today, but as we told you last night, they will be opening two hours late. Again, all Rutherford County Schools will be open today but on a two hour delay.
We will be operating with bus driver and parent discretion. What this means is bus drivers will not go down a road if they experience hazardous, impassable conditions. Likewise, parents can use their discretion if they feel they cannot safely get their children to school because of conditions in their area. Parents, please be cautious when it comes to your teenage drivers. If you don’t think it is safe for them to drive, please don’t let them do so.
We will be excusing any absences or tardies because of the potential road conditions.
Also, we still have some ice and snow patches lingering at several schools so please be cautious on arrival.
