Zac Tucker is the information technology teacher at Stewarts Creek High School.

Currently, he teaches three different I.T. courses over the school year.

Logan Tillett is a senior who has been through each one of the classes.

“During my time at Stewarts Creek I have been able to earn multiple information technology certifications during my class time,” Tillett said. “The certifications helped me personally with my customer service while building a network from the ground up.”

Tillett said his father - who works in information technology - now share a bond over the trade.

“He actually recommended it to me since there are a lot of job opportunities in the field,” Tillett said.

Tillett plans to study cybersecurity at MTSU in the fall.

Ryan Dong - junior at Stewarts Creek - recently moved from Pennsylvania and has jumped right into the information technology course.

“Before I moved to Tennessee, I was in a coding class at my previous school and I found it very interesting,” Dong said. “It definitely sparked my interest in the field.”

Dong said the fundamental course has brought real exposure to the field of study.

“So far this year we have learned all the components of a computer,” Dong said. “We have spent the last few weeks learning to troubleshoot a PC.”

Dong knows that the field has many different job opportunities.

It’s a really good field. There are a ton of job opportunities, but it’s also competitive,” Dong said. “Learning the ins-and-outs gives us a huge head start.”
