Spring has arrived, marking the highly anticipated plant sales at our local high schools. More than just an opportunity to purchase beautiful plants at competitive prices, these sales serve as an essential component of agriculture education programs. Students enrolled in these courses have dedicated months to cultivating and caring for a variety of plants, gaining hands-on experience in horticulture, business management, and customer service. Now, they are ready to share the fruits of their labor with the community.
The greenhouse programs provide students with valuable career preparation while also generating funds to support agriculture programs and student participation in Future Farmers of America (FFA) events. Purchasing from school greenhouses not only supports local students but also fosters the next generation of agricultural professionals.
This year’s offerings include a diverse selection of hanging baskets, bedding plants, vegetable starts, herbs, and perennials, all carefully nurtured by students. Below are the details for each school’s plant sale, including hours of operation, available plants, and key contacts:
Blackman High School
Opening Date: April 12 | Hours: Weekdays 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Saturdays 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Available Plants: Succulents, Begonias, Petunias, Marigolds, Impatiens, Coleus, Geraniums, assorted vegetable plants, mixed baskets.

Opening Date: April 10 | Hours: Varying dates and times from April 14 – May 2
Available Plants: Petunia baskets, mixed baskets, ferns, geraniums, succulents, lantana, tomatoes.

Opening Date: April 5 | Hours: Weekdays 8 AM – 4 PM, Saturdays 8 AM – 12 PM
