Simon Springs Community School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the completion of a schoolwide renovation.
Led by Principal Samantha Wagner, Simon Springs opened in August 2024, and has been undergoing several renovations over the past year.
Located in La Vergne, Simon Springs serves a small population of students in grades 1-8 needing behavior intervention support. Work at the campus, which opened in 1963 as LaVergne Primary School, features a top-to-bottom renovation of classrooms, offices and gymnasium.
During the ceremony, two parents shared how the school and staff have helped their children improve academically while providing a safe and welcoming environment.
“We believe in second chances. We believe in the power of structure and support. And most importantly, we believe in our students – their ability to learn, to change and to become the very best version of themselves,” Wagner said during the ceremony.
