Daniel-McKee Alternative School enhanced by local church volunteers

DMK ECC Partnership

The Experience Community Church spent the summer providing complimentary building upgrades to Daniel McKee Alternative School.

Church members painted the exterior of the building, built shelving in the teacher workroom, painted three murals on interior walls, refreshed all flower beds and enhanced the physical activity area behind the school.

“It’s a game-changer,” Daniel-McKee Assistant Principal Glenn Suggs said. “We are proud of our school and the work we get to do here. Now we can be proud of the way our building looks.”

The leadership team of Experience Community Church was approached by DMK administration last year about partnering with them. The church also provided multiple meals and other services for all staff and students during the school year. The church has also provided multiple meals for all staff and students over the past year.

Along with the upgrades from ECC, the school was able to replace all flooring and have the interior of the school painted over the summer.

The district thanks ECC’s Lead Pastor Corey Trimble and the rest of the Experience team for their partnership.
