Smyrna Primary School held its first Ion Showcase of Learning of the school year, giving students a chance to show how hard they’ve worked during the first nine weeks of school.
The showcase is held at the end of each grading period and covers all content areas. Students share their learning with parents, students in other grades and community partners.
Friday’s showcase included the following:
Pre-K: Shapes
Kindergarten: Creating toys and musical instruments
First grade: Binoculars, birdhouses and writing projects
Second grade: Musical performance focused on place value
Third grade: Learning challenges in countries around the world
Fourth grade: Marble runs, essays and poetry
Fifth grade: Analyzing literary characters and stories incorporating math and science
