Rutherford County Schools
Rutherford County Schools continued its track record of high performance, after gaining multiple high marks on the annual Tennessee Report Card, which was released today by the Tennessee Department of Education.
More than three-fourths of Rutherford schools received either an A or a B on the state’s letter grade accountability system, which was launched two years ago. The grades reflect performance from the 2024-2025 school year.
“For the second straight year, more than half of our tested schools received an A, which places us among the elite in Tennessee,” Director of Schools Dr. Jimmy Sullivan said. “This is yet another achievement that highlights our district as we have already announced 32 Level 5 schools, 28 Reward Schools, and now 26 schools earning an A.”
In addition to the schools receiving an A, this year’s report shows 14 Rutherford County schools received B’s, six received C’s, and four received a D. No Rutherford schools received an F.
The Report Card reflects multiple points of performance data, as well, including growth scores, graduation rates, and Career and Technical Education participation and results. Much of this data has already been released by TDOE earlier this school year.
As reported previously, 32 Rutherford schools received a Level 5 for academic growth of students, and the district received a Level 5 as a whole for growth. Level 5 is the highest designation available from the Tennessee Department of Education.
Twenty-eight Rutherford schools were named “Reward” schools for their performance, and the district’s graduation rate is 97.2%, which is among the elite in Tennessee.
The report also shows nearly 68% of all Rutherford high school students are concentrated in Career and Technical Education pathways.
The report gives parents the ability to look at performance school-by-school or from the district level. The Tennessee Report Card is available online here: https://www.tn.gov/education/families/report-card.html
