More than 200 student musicians put on a show at the Rutherford County Schools’ All-County Band Concert Friday, Feb. 6 at World Outreach Church.
Students from all 22 RCS middle and high schools performed.
Carolyn Hankins of Page Middle School in Williamson County and Dr. Eric Scott of Indiana State University served as conductors for the middle and high school groups, respectively. Ottie West of Whitworth-Buchanan Middle coordinated the middle school band while Riverdale High’s Dr. Mike Aymett coordinated the high school ensemble.
To prepare for the concert, students spent more than eight hours in group rehearsals over two days.
Of the 200-plus students chosen to perform, 148 were named to All-Midstate ensemble with 19 achieving All-State status.
