Rutherford County Schools
A total of 36 students from across Rutherford County submitted original art focused on environmental awareness.
Artwork was displayed and students were recognized on stage at Rutherford County’s Earth Day Celebration Saturday, April 18, on the Murfreesboro Square.
Along with bringing attention to the environment, students’ artwork was judged by grade band with each first, second and third place winner being awarded cash amounts of $100, $75 and $50.
The following RCS students were announced as the 2026 Earth Day poster winners:
Grades K–2:
1st Place – Mithran Bharanidharan, Stewart's Creek Elementary, 1st grade
Grades 3–5:
2nd Place – Camille & Cora Robinson, Rutherford County Virtual School, 5th grade
Honorable Mention – Emma Lucia Arevalo C., Cedar Grove Elementary, 3rd grade
Grades 6–8:
2nd Place – William Velasquez Lopez, John Pittard, 6th grade
3rd Place – Colton Buchholz, John Pittard, 6th grade
Honorable Mention – Sarai Nelson, Thurman Francis, 8th grade
Honorable Mention – Camila Nelson, Thurman Francis, 6th grade
Grades 9-12:
1st Place – Katelyn Fulton, Riverdale High School, 11th grade
2nd Place – Natali Nelson, Oakland High School, 11th grade
3rd Place – Ayden Miller, Rockvale High School, 9th grade
