Rutherford County School's Dr. Andrea Anthony has been selected as the regional Administrator of the Year.
Anthony is currently the high school coordinator in the district's Curriculum and Instruction. She will begin July 1 as the new Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Students Services, a position that is being vacated by the retiring Paula Barnes.
For the administrator award, nominees as selected by demonstrating superior abilities in
managing and motivating students and faculties; evoking high standards; demonstrating a commitment to excellence; implementing innovative programs; and having a track record of exceptional gains in student learning. The criteria is established by the Tennessee Department of Education as a part of the award nomination process.

Anthony is being recognized as the winner for the Mid-Cumberland region.
"I am truly honored to be recognized by my Mid-Cumberland peers as the regional Supervisor of the Year," Anthony said. "I treasure being a part of the innovative programing and commitment to excellence that allows Rutherford County Schools to shine. In my current role, I enjoy developing talent and building capacity while evoking high standards for student achievement.
The award winners will be honored during the annual Tennessee Educational Leadership Conference (LEAD) in Nashville, which will be held in the fall.
