The National Exchange Club recently dedicated a Freedom Shrine to Rock Springs Middle School.

The shrine is a permanently mounted collection of 30 of the most important and historic American documents, including the Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States, Gettysburg Address and Martin Luther King's historic "I Have a Dream" speech.

“These documents show our nation's youth the strength and courage of their forefathers,” said Stephen Wayne, principal of Rock Springs, “by allowing them to read, with their own eyes, the immortal words of inspired Americans who so decisively changed the course of history.”

The dedication ceremony was comprised of eighth grade social studies classes, honor choir, Rock Springs teacher who previously served in the military and LaVergne High School JROTC Color Guard.

“Rock Springs would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this day another successful day at Rock Springs Middle,” Wayne concluded.
