More than 300 students and 200 parents from Tennessee and Alabama recently attended a Theatre Unites Us event at Roy Waldron School.

Students performed 15 minutes of a musical and were adjudicated by theater professionals. They also participated in vocal exercises and played theater games led by the professionals.

Among the professionals on hand was Marty Johnson, an education director for iTheatrics in New York.

Afterward, organizers said new friendships were created and everyone looks forward to meeting again in January at The Junior Theater Festival.
