Kate Kasuboski has been named coordinator of Special Education for Rutherford County Schools, Director of Schools Bill Spurlock announced today.

“Ms. Kasuboski has more than 16 years experience serving in multiple areas of special education, including working as a classroom teacher and in compliance,” Director Spurlock said. “Her background includes all components of special education, and she was the best candidate for the position.”

Kasuboski succeeds Mark Gullion, who has been named the new coordinator for Federal Programs, Title I and Response to Intervention.

“I want to thank Mr. Spurlock for this opportunity to lead,” Kasuboski said. “I’m hoping to continue to meet the challenges this district faces with growth. I’m excited to work with the students and families of Rutherford County.”

Kasuboski most recently worked for Williamson County Schools as a student support specialist. She previously served Rutherford County Schools as a program specialist in the Special Education department, where she also had served as a compliance liaison and as a teacher.

She lives in Rutherford County and has children within the school district.

“I’m excited to come back home,” Kasuboski said.

Rutherford County Schools’ Special Education program provides services for more than 5,000 students.
