Charter school appeal hearing scheduled for Sept. 19

 

The Tennessee Department of Education will hold an appeal hearing for Rocketship Rutherford Elementary Charter School at 9 a.m. Central Time on Friday, Sept. 19 at Rutherford County Schools' Central Office, 2240 Southpark Drive in Murfreesboro.

 

Public Comment: Individuals who have registered in advance with the Commission will have up to two minutes to provide comments. The Commission will allow up to 10 individuals speaking in support of approving the application and up to 10 individuals speaking in support of the district’s decision to deny the application. Note: Slots may not be transferred, and public comment sign up will close on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. CT or when the slots are filled, whatever is first.

 

Submission of written comments: The Commission will accept written public comments until one week after the conclusion of the public hearing. Public comment for this hearing will not be accepted after 9 a.m. Central Time on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025
