Now that the regular season has concluded for girls soccer, coaches in Rutherford County have selected awards for the season.

The coaches recently convened at LaVergne High School to decide the first and second All-District teams and MVP awards, LaVergne girls soccer coach Jamie Shields said.

"The first and second All-District teams are decided by placement," Shields said. "Oakland was first place in our district and so they got the lion's share.

"Those are nominated by the individual coaches — who they want on the team — and you get so many spots according on where you finished," he explained. "The MVP awards are voted on by coaches."
