Walter Hill Elementary School Principal Helen Campbell will receive a True Blue Citation of Distinction next month from her alma mater Middle Tennessee State University.

Campbell is being recognized for her “Achievement in Education outside MTSU.”

An announcement from the university specifically focuses on Campbell’s innovative “House” program, which has a Harry Potter theme that promotes healthy competition and rewards positive behavior.

MTSU Alumni Association has been recognizing distinguished alumni since 1960.

This is the third consecutive year the association awarded the True Blue Citations of Distinction.

Honorees will receive their awards during homecoming week at the Distinguished Alumni Awards reception, which will take place in the Sam H. Ingram Building on Friday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.

The event is free to the public, but reservations are requested by visiting http://www.mtalumni.com.

In addition to the awards ceremony, this year’s recipients will be recognized during the MTSU homecoming parade and during halftime of the game with rival Western Kentucky.
