For the first time in school history, the Eagleville FFA chapter was recognized in the 2017 National Chapter Award Program.
The National FFA Organization annually recognizes outstanding FFA chapters from throughout the country by using a set of national standards that emphasizes growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.
“This was the first time that Eagleville has earned this honor and only the second time a school in Rutherford County had been awarded the highest honor the FFA bestows upon a program for its overall effort and success,” said Emily Marshall, a faculty advisor for the FFA Chapter.
Eagleville was one of only five FFA chapters from more than 200 in Tennessee to be recognized as a Three Star Chapter.
“Feeding some 9 billion people by mid-century brings with it unprecedented challenges for today’s farmers,” said Amy Allen, manager, national corporate contributions for John Deere. “The skills and experiences learned through the National Chapter Award Program will help meet the critical needs.”
Members of the Eagleville FFA Chapter were honored in October by the National FFA Organization in front of more than 62,000 members at the 2017 National FAA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.
