Rutherford County Schools
Blackman High School students raised $450 to help the Wilson County DART’s effort to save displaced pets in Texas and locate them safely to homes or shelters following the recent hurricane and flooding.
The students were all part of a “Connect & Impact” period taught by Winifred Willette, Noi Woodruff, Jonathan Carter and Lucas Holman.
Connect & Impact is an intervention, enrichment period held every day at Blackman, where teachers are assigned 20 students.
Each of the academic teams are also responsible for participating in one community service project each school year.
