The annual Rutherford Works High School Internship Program has become one of the most successful collaborations between Rutherford County Schools, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and local industry partners.

The application process for the 2019 summer program opens Jan. 11 and will close February Feb. 8.

Last summer, 45 students participated in a month-long paid internship.

Rising seniors are encouraged to apply early. Positions are limited to the first 10 applicants, of which three will be chosen for interviews.

The applications are available on the Rutherford Works website.

Pathways include business and finance, information technology, STEM, architecture and construction, marketing, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, agriculture, arts, audio and visual technology, government and public administration and human sciences as well as law, public safety, corrections and security.

As in previous years, interns will work four-hour shifts Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon and then participate in a weekly workshop each Friday at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.
