The annual Tennessee Tax Free Holiday weekend is Friday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 2.
Tennessee lawmakers voted to double the price of eligible items.
Clothing, back to school items and art supplies priced at $200 or less along with electronic devices $3,000 or less are exempt from being taxed. Traditionally the eligible items are capped at $100 and $1,5000 respectively. The increase is for the 2020 holiday weekend only.

Computer software, sporting equipment, clothing accessories and instructional material are among the items not eligible for the exemption.

The Tennessee Department of Revenue announced a second Tax Free Holiday weekend for restaurants will take place Aug. 7-9.
