Create a Your Own Concept Map

Read the article on the Black Death. (handout provided by teacher)

  1. Create a Concept Map.  Use a variety of pictures, colors, and linking lines.

Create an Interactive Video in Playposit

  • Log in Playposit https://www.playposit.com/login using your Office 365 account.  Watch the tutorial or go to your name then Tutorial.
  • In groups of 2-3, create rigorous and relevant questions using the Question stem handout.
  • Try to create a question for each quadrant.
  • Share the link to your bulb in the TEAM conversation.
 
Choice 3: Formal and Structured Vocabulary Instruction

  • Must be structured and formal
  • Comprehension requires context
  • No comprehension without picturing
 
 

Inquiry:

Read the text Black Death (handout provided by the teacher)

  • Work together to use the context clues in the sentences to make predictions about what the highlighted word means.
  • Identify additional words the group doesn't know

 

Teach:

The teacher should identify words for instruction. They can "teach" the words using Power Point Recording feature to "flip" vocabulary instruction. Vocabulary instruction must be formal and structured to reap .62 effect size. Post words
