Long Term Disability (LTD)

The Standard Long Term Disability Policy

Rutherford County BOE provides eligible employees a LTD insurance plan as part of the benefit package. Eligibility for the benefit is determined by the same guidelines for all other benefits:

All Full-time active and Part-time active employees working at least 30 hours per week Board of Education, who are citizens or legal residents of the United States, its territories and protectorates, excluding temporary, leased or seasonal employees.

The insured plan provides a benefit of 66.67% of your earnings to a maximum of $6,000 per month. You must be disabled for at least 180 days before you are eligible to receive the LTD benefit.

Coverage as well as the actual benefit are subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

The policy is insured with The Standard.

Short Term Disability (STD)

The Standard Short Term Disability Certificate

The County offers voluntary STD coverage through The Standard effective January 01, 2021. STD replaces a portion of your pay if you can't work because of illness, non-work-related injury or pregnancy.

• Benefits begin after 8 days of disability (elimination period)
• The plan can pay up to 60% of your pay, up to$1,250/week (limits may apply)
• Benefits generally continue up to 24 weeks
